Family Update

I know that I got behind in posting to the blog, life is crazy! So I thought I would update everyone on how we are all doing. Brenden just got his report card and did great as usual. He is such a smart kid! We do have to work a little on remembering and organization but his teacher and I developed a plan that seems to be helping him improve. He is in cub scouts and is still enjoying that. I can not believe that 2nd grade is almost over already....3rd grade - YIKES! He is a great big brother and very helpful. CJ is in the last few months of preschool and has done very well. His teachers love him and say that he is very much ready for Kindergarten.....again YIKES! He really enjoys school and is excited about next year. If all goes as planned he will attend Rodgers Elementary as well and go to all day Kindergarten. Kaiden....oh boy! What can I say, he is a challenge. He just turned three and is without a doubt going through the "HORRIBLE threes". He can be very sweet and lovable BUT mostly gets into everything and does anything that he is NOT supposed to. Cody is doing great! You can read about him in his 7 Month post. Me - Well I am still working of course! I am going to school full time and so far have a 3.9 GPA. I have to say that I am very proud of myself. Really there is nothing exciting to say - work, school, cleaning, kids, cleaning, more cleaning!

Cody - 6 Months

6 Months
19lb 7oz
27 1/4 inches

Cody is growing so fast! He LOVES to eat and is eating one size 2 and one size 3 jar at each meal. There is not much that he does not like except for peas which is a challenge but he manages. He loves homemade food and is slowly starting to get the same dinners as us (mashed up). He is very actively and his favorite thing to do is JUMP. He still does not care much about trying to crawl but is rolling over a lot and always has something to say. He is still working at sitting up all by himself but he does stay up to play for awhile, he moves so much that he ends up falling over! He still hates bathtime but lives through it and is a great sleeper....THANK GOODNESS! Cody really enjoys watching his brothers act crazy and loves to hang out with Brenden.

Pinewood Derby - Pack 1462

Today was the Pinewood Derby for Brenden's cub scout pack. Brenden came in 3rd in his race. Although he was very upset about it, he did great! I am very proud of him. I told him that Papa would help him build a very fast car for next year!!!

"Bugz"

Brenden's school presents the musical play "Bugz"! The performance was done by the 2nd and 3rd grades classes and they did a great job. Brenden was an army ant in the play. He is a video clip from the performance.

Surprise!

I was not about to let my dad retire after working hard for SO many years without some type of bang! So me and my mom went to work planning a surprise retirement party for him and hoping that he did not catch on! It was three weeks after he actually retired so we thought he would never figure that a party was coming and he didn't! He thought "no one cared" that he retired...boy was he wrong. It was a lot of work but completely worth it! It was a great party and I am thankful to all the friends and family that came to celebrate with us. A special thanks to Tom & Kathy Lutz, Richie Williamson, JT Tharrett, Ron & Jessica Ruggs and Dave Bova. They made it possible for us to pull off and I appreciate their help! Thank you.

The Spoon.....Well for all those who do not know my dad I will tell you the story of the "spoon". As a Union Business Agent for many, many years my dad become an expert at "stirring the pot" out in the field (and loved every minute of it!) so I figured that it was appropriate for him to "pass the spoon" on to a lucky agent. He was given a huge wooden spoon to pass on which when to Richie Williamson who actually was the one that was nice enough to take on the project of making them for me. I knew that it would not be easy nor would he give up the union life and stirring the pot even in retirement so he was also given a huge spoon so that he may continue what he does best!

Congratulations Dad -
Enjoy every minute of it, you deserve it!

Papa Retires

After 30+ years Papa retires from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters on February 1, 2009! Congratulations Papa! The boys have papa's retirement planned out more then he does....fishing, boating and sleepovers just to name a few. They remember to ask papa often if he took his nap today!

These are a few pictures from a small "Congratulations" party that we had for him on his last day at work but what he did not know what that the best was yet to come.........

Brenden's BOBCAT Badge

Brenden has been in Cub Scouts this year and really enjoys it! Him and Papa went camping this winter and had a blast, well at least Brenden did! He was very excited to be able to shot a bebe gun (yicks) and actually did very well at it. He also made a pinewood derby car and will be racing it this weekend. Below are a couple of pictures from his badge ceremony that was held in February.

Happy Birthday Kaiden

Kaiden turned 3 on February 1st! He is a big boy now and is "working" on going on the potty all the time. He had his Diego cake at his party and got lots of great presents from everyone!
